FLEXIDEN 45 - flexible facade coating composition -

FLEXIDEN 45 is a one-component, water based elastic coating composition for protective, water-proofing and colour decorating finishes of external facade surfaces. It is manufactured on the basis of special acrylate dispersion that features high elasticity and surface netting capability of the dried-up surface due to the effects of UV radiation.

Use: FLEXIDEN 45 is used for colour finishes of facades and heat insulation cladding systems. Suitable subgrades are traditional floated and scraped finishes plasters, concrete fibre cement and woodchip cement material, glass cement, stone and brick masonry etc. Thanks to its elasticity this composition is able to bridge over initiating cracks and thus, apart to the aesthetic effect, prevents penetration of water and acid gases into the subgrade and its corrosion. The coat safely bridges over cracks of 0.2 mm width at total consumption of the composition of about 500 g/m2. When wider cracks occur in the subgrade either the thickness of the layer applied may be increased or FLEXIDEN 35 having greater elasticity may be used as priming layer.

The paint has excellent adhesion both in dry and wet conditions to various subgrades, especially to silicate materials, high resistance to UV radiation and weathering effects, waterproof under maintenance of permeability for water vapours, it maintains its elasticity over a wide range of temperatures (even under frost) and has good resistance to failures due to cracking in the subgrade, it produces an effective barrier to CO2, SO2, and chloride ions penetration into the structure thus preventing it from corrosion. Because of the possibility of surface layer netting it shows a very low dirt pick-up rate and long lifetime under maintenance of colour and aesthetic effects.The consistency of the paint allows it to be applied in greater thicknesses which enables the desired layer to be achieved already by two coatings and resistance of the dried-up coating to microbic attack

Paint aplication: The coating composition shall by applied onto a clean and cohesive subgrade penetrated by the PRIMER B priming coat thinned with water in the ratios 1:3 to 1:4. Cracks in the subgrade wider then 10 mm will be extended and filled with polymercement mortar, cracks of 1-10 mm width shall be filled with the OSTAFLEX mastic. The composition is applied by roll, brush, or by spraying in one or more thicker layers. The temperature of air and subgrade must not drop below +5 °C during applicating and drying of the coat. Recommended pause between the individual coats shall be 12 hours. The composition is ready for direct use, it need not be thinned with water prior to its application.

Tinge: FLEXIDEN 45 is supplied in shades acc. to the manufacturer’s colour sample book or in other shades as agreed.

Packaging and storing: It is packed in plastic packages of 1,5 to 35 kgs weight. It should be stored in its original packages at +5 to +25 °C at places protected against direct effects of sun and against sudden fluctuations in temperature. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Safety and hygiene: FLEXIDEN 45 as supplied is a non-combustible and non-toxic composition. The paint does not require a hazard warning label in accordance with EC Directives. On applying the coat it is necessary to wear protective clothes and gloves and to observe the principles of personal hygiene. On spraying the composition it is necessary to wear glasses and respirator mask.
First aid: when eyes are affected they shall be washed out by a stream of clean water and in more serious cases a physician should be seen.
