Town walls - Kouřim [ Fortifications, fortress or bunker ]The remains of the mediaeval defences of the town are among the best-preserved such fortifications in Europe.
The sole gate left standing dates from the second half of the 13th century, and is evidence of early Gothic construction of a high order.
